About my ongoing journey:
Me (above), and my little Paragon Firefly (below).
The Firefly has an interior firing chamber of 8"L x 8"W x 4 1/2"H. It's just so cute! |
My name is MicahMarie McCann, and this is Firefly Ceramic Arts. Named after my very first (and favorite) kiln, my tiny Paragon Firefly! I completed my Bachelor's of Science degree in Fine Art with focus in Ceramics and Painting at UW-La Crosse in 2011, the same year my daughter was born. After that, it took 9 years of hard work, saving, and support from my partner before I was able to finally establish my in-home studio.
As a weekend potter it's taken a lot of time to get my skills back up to par and my studio has been growing and adapting right along with me. My little Firefly kiln can only hold 4 mugs at a time, so it used to take ages to build inventory! Our studio has a mid-size Paragon Xpress kiln now, so we can fire much more at once, but even with the kiln space, time is the biggest factor in stocking my online shop and market table at the moment. I am not taking any custom orders at this time. Thank you for taking a look at my page, and please let me know if you have any questions! |
